FAQs

What is a personal trainer?
A personal trainer is a highly skilled professional that has been educated and certified to work with various types of clients. They create a "personal" exercise program just for you.
Who uses a personal trainer and what kind of results should I expect to see?
Anybody. Whether you are a athlete wanting to train for a 5k run, a triathlon, improve your tennis game, or just a mom and dad wanting to get back to your high school fitness level and size. My Clients use my services for fat loss, weight gain, improved flexibility and posture, to alleviate stress, increase strength & energy, rehab an injury, improve quickness, endurance, general health benefits, and even cancer recovery.
How does my Personal Trainer know what program is right for me?
Prior to working out, Hilary will ask you questions about your fitness goals, your past experiences with exercise, your current healthstyle, physical condition, injuries and health history. And from there, she will establish a workout designed to help you achieve your goals.
What does a personal trainer do?
As personal trainer, I will serve as your teacher, motivator and coach. I will do what ever it takes to keep you on track. You will be shown proper exercise form which optimizes the efficiency of the exercise movement. Focusing on correct exercise form and technique incorporates more muscle throughout the exercise workouts which results in increased lean muscle, muscle toning, muscle strength, metabolism, and weight loss. Using correct exercise form and technique also increases muscle balance, which increases injury recovery and injury prevention. Your body will also feel more balanced and therefore, you will become much stronger.
How many days a week do I need to work out?
It depends upon your current conditions, goals, schedule, and budget. You may "need" to workout with a trainer four days a week but only have the time and budget for two days. I will teach you a program that you can do on your own on the days you do not train with me. Some trainer/client relationships extend over many years.
How long will it take to see results?
That depends on a variety of factors. Your initial fitness level, diet, nutrition, genetics, and most of all, Your Commitment. It honestly depends on how hard your are willing to work and how disciplined you are outside of your sessions. If you workout hard but don't work at your nutrition, your results will be a lot slower. If you are committed and follow my plan, I can transform your body to be better than you thought possible. You will get out of it, what you put into it. You will typically feel the difference after the first few weeks.
I have done everything but I still can't lose weight. Is there anything you can do for me?
Yes, Most people who have been working out on their own for a while eventually hit a plateau. I will push you to greater heights in your workouts by varying your routines.
What should I eat before I work out?
Something light such as a piece of fruit, a couple of slices of turkey, or a protein bar. Make sure you drink plenty of water before, during and after. After your session, a good mix of protein and carbs will get you on the road to recovery. A protein shake is perfect.
